Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Controls Engineer to join our team in a unionized work environment . The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning building automation systems, with a focus on Tridium or Distech platforms. This role requires strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to safety and union standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement building automation and control systems using Tridium Niagara or Distech Controls platforms.
• Develop control sequences, system architecture, and integration strategies for HVAC, lighting, and energy systems.
• Collaborate with union trades, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Program and configure controllers, HMIs, and supervisory software.
• Perform on-site commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Ensure compliance with union agreements, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including schematics and operation manuals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in building automation or controls engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara Framework and/or Distech Controls systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control theory, and communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
• Familiarity with unionized work environments and collaborative labor practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Tridium Niagara (e.g., Niagara 4 TCP) or Distech Controls.
• Experience integrating third-party systems (e.g., lighting, access control).
• Knowledge of energy efficiency strategies and green building standards.
