Job Description

Position Summary

The Bilingual Human Resource / Safety Manager serves as both a strategic partner and hands-on contributor, supporting plant leadership and employees across all aspects of HR and safety. This role is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies, fostering a high-performance culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and championing workplace safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to employee engagement, continuous improvement, and organizational effectiveness while effectively managing day-to-day operations and long-term people strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to plant management and staff on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Lead change initiatives and serve as a change agent to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee employee relations, performance evaluations, compensation planning, and benefits administration.
  • Support talent development initiatives, including onboarding, coaching, career development, and succession planning.
  • Partner with leadership to facilitate strategic workforce planning and talent movement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all HR and safety-related regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement safety inspection procedures and conduct regular facility inspections to identify risks.
  • Manage incident and injury reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure accessibility and maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Lead safety training programs covering emergency procedures, workplace safety, and compliance topics.

Operational Excellence

  • Evaluate and improve HR and safety processes to align with evolving business needs.
  • Create and monitor action plans for improved employee engagement and plant performance.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience, with demonstrated responsibility in safety compliance and employee relations.
  • Prior experience handling confidential and sensitive employee information.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and data management skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards required.

Language Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
