JD: Instructor to deliver SPECTRUM RF Courses
Instructor Qualifications:
· Have RF Spectrum expertise, along with extensive engineering backgrounds.
· Be a practitioner of adult learning techniques to ensure engagement throughout the courses.
· Have appropriate communication mechanisms to reach a broad Engineering audience.
· Teach each RF Spectrum training course, along with hands-on practice and use of the latest tools and technologies to provide a meaningful training experience.
· Ensure all students have the understanding at a component-level, and not higher-level “theory”.
· Develop and deliver supporting materials to the students, including: Class schedule, Instructional handouts, Text books / Resource materials, and copies of all Class presentations (in print or electronically).
Course Details:
· RF Techniques and Measurements training courses: a total of four (4) technical training courses.
· Each class will have up to 20 students / participants.
· 5-day courses.
· On-site, Instructor-led In-Class Room Training Courses, in Crane, Indiana, USA.
· Target Audience:
o Engineers: Those working in the design, development, and testing of RF systems.
o Technicians: Individuals involved in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of RF equipment.
o Spectrum Managers: Professionals responsible for managing and allocating the radio frequency spectrum.
o Software Developers: Those working on applications related to wireless communication and spectrum management.
Course Outlines:
1. Applied RF Technologies / Techniques I : (Two Offerings)
Ø Instruct students about the transition into a wireless domain.
Course objectives include the following:
· Understanding of RF circuit parameters and terms.
· Identifying the effects of parasitics on circuit performance.
· Designing filters with lumped and distributed components.
· Using graphical design techniques and the Smith Chart.
· Performing statistical analysis to include design centering and yield optimization.
· Predicting RF circuit stability.
· Designing various RF amplifiers; small-signal, low noise, and feedback.
2. RF Measurements: Principles & Demonstration : (Two Offerings)
Ø Provide the students with an understanding of essential RF measurements that must be made on modern wireless communication equipment.
Ø Use the demonstrations of technology using actual RF wireless components, including power amps, LNAs, mixers, upconverters, and filters.
Ø Provide all equipment necessary for these demonstration activities.
Course objectives include the following:
· Unique measurement challenges that become significant as circuit operating frequencies increase.
· RF measurements that must be made on modern wireless communication equipment.
· Association between controls and components.
· Caring for RF cables and connectors in a lab environment.
· Operation of RF test equipment to include setup and calibration.
· Making measurements and traditional tests on multiple wireless components.
· Developing reasonable expectations for measurement uncertainties.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience: Spectrum RF.
· Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering.
· U.S. Citizenship.
· Security Clearance: Have DoD clearance or Be Clearable.
