Job Description

FULL-TIME INSTRUCTOR: Language Arts

About Hopeworks

Hopeworks is a nonprofit social enterprise that uses technology, trauma-informed care, and market-based businesses to transform lives. Young adults in our program receive hard and soft skill training, career coaching, barrier reduction services (food, housing/mental health care referrals), academic support, and paid work experience in our businesses.

Over 99% of young adults (17-26) entering Hopeworks are unemployed. After completion, they earn over $44,000 annually, with a 12-month retention rate of over 90% in their jobs. That is the Hopeworks difference.

Hopeworks delivers long-term outcomes, immediate poverty reduction, and opportunity in communities that are often sidelined by structural racism and poverty.

  • Employ diverse teaching strategies such as whole group instruction, small group work, and interactive activities to address various learning needs.

  • Collaborate closely with the Program Director and contribute to all aspects of the program, including maintaining accurate student records in the Salesforce management system.
  • Participate in Trauma-Informed activities and embrace the principles associated with Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of student attendance, progress, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education or a related field, required.

  • At least 3-5 years of teaching experience and a passion for working with youth, particularly those with significant trauma histories.

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Is proactive and driven to exceed goals.
