Job Description

Beacon Hill is seeking a remote Product Counsel (Contractor) to join a fast-paced, innovative legal team at a leading global technology company. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely while playing a key strategic role in supporting Product, Engineering, and AI teams throughout the product development lifecycle. The successful candidate will bring deep experience advising on product-related legal issues, particularly within the SaaS and tech sectors, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

This is a contract-based, fully remote opportunity , ideal for attorneys with both in-house and law firm experience who are comfortable advising on complex legal and regulatory challenges related to emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide responsive, practical legal counsel to Product and Engineering teams across the entire product lifecycle-from development to launch and sunsetting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Privacy, Marketing, and Partnerships Legal, to synthesize input into clear product legal strategies
• Engage with technical stakeholders to ensure legal and regulatory considerations are integrated into product planning and execution
• Advise on a wide range of legal issues including data privacy, product liability, AI governance, and regulatory risk
• Create and maintain legal enablement materials such as guidance documents, FAQs, and training decks
• Develop creative solutions to novel legal and regulatory issues in collaboration with cross-functional partners
• Contribute to ongoing efforts to scale and mature the product legal function and support the legal team's business partner model

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification; licensed to practice and in good standing with at least one jurisdiction
• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house roles preferred
• Experience supporting fast-paced, international SaaS or technology organizations
• Strong understanding of product development processes, engineering frameworks, and related legal issues
• Familiarity with privacy, data protection, and emerging technology regulations
• Demonstrated ability to balance legal risk with business needs in a practical, solution-oriented manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable guidance
• Interest or experience in AI-related legal issues is a plus
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional setting
