Job Description

Responsible for the financial and operational goals of a retail space, including but not limited to guest service, sales and merchandising, operational compliance, and human resource functions. Work closely with corporate leadership on the development, implementation, and execution of business strategies, including unit operations, sales and service strategies, and operational budget. Grow revenue and maximize financial performance by delivering outstanding products and exceptional service.

  • Responsible for profit and loss results, sales, labor, and inventory controls. Ensure goals are met through appropriate planning and organization of staff, inventory and expenses. Analyze operating reports, make recommendations and implement store performance improvement plans.
  • Lead and drive sales by implementing defined standard operating procedures. Identify opportunities to drive traffic and conversion and increase shopping basket size.
  • Responsible for all hiring, scheduling, training, payroll and related functions for hourly departmental staff. Provide leadership and direction to staff. Develop direct reports by communicating performance expectations and delivering timely feedback through verbal communication, regular meetings and goal-setting programming through designated performance management system.
  • Partner with corporate buying and planning teams to ensure location has the right product, pricing, promotions and marketing to drive sales.
  • Actively merchandise according to company standards and for ease of guest shopping. Lead and drive the organization, fill-in and visual presentation of the retail space.
  • Support the security function to protect assets and the personal safety of employees and guests. Implement and follow cash control procedures. Lead quarterly and annual physical inventory procedures.
  • Participate in venue and corporate meetings to improve guest experience, drive traffic to location and work cross-functionally to improve overall business.
  • Communicate and uphold all corporate standards, guidelines, policies and procedures in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Maintain personal integrity by abiding by and supporting the values and principles of the company. Follow and support brand SOPs. Participate and respond to the annual company audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred

Experience

  • 3+ years retail management experience required; specialty/gift store experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills that include the ability to coach, develop, discipline, and clearly communicate expectations
  • Dedicated to sales and customer service excellence
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and fluent with retail POS system functionality
