Job Description

**Job Description** Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) combines the elasticity and utility of public cloud with the granular control, security, and predictability of on-premises infrastructure to deliver high-performance, high availability, and cost-effective infrastructure services. Multiple compute options provide the flexibility to run the most demanding workloads and less compute-intensive applications in a secure and highly available cloud environment. Customers can self-service provision virtual machines alongside bare metal servers and clusters on the same virtual cloud networks through a unified web console, APIs, CLI, or via industry-standard tools such as Terraform and Chef. OCI's approach gives the customer choices for storage, such as industry-leading local NVME storage or elastic network block storage. The Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) builds the OCI service that runs our managed Kubernetes experience. It is used by various internal and external customers, and we're actively adding features-from Kubernetes to deeper integrations with OCI and to better allow cluster management. The team operates a 24x7 service at scale. We have a large roadmap of features to enable scenarios for new customers coming on board in the coming quarters. Position Overview We are seeking an accomplished Senior Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team within the Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) organization. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. Key Responsibilities include: + Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers responsible for the design, development, and operation of critical OKE services. + Provide strategic technical direction and architectural guidance for new features and system enhancements, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals. + Drive cross-team collaboration to engineer optimal solutions, transcending organizational boundaries and ownership. + Oversee the debugging, maintenance, and improvement of existing systems, with a strong focus on reducing operational burden, enhancing performance, and ensuring the 24x7 availability of the service. + Foster a culture of technical excellence, systematic problem-solving, and strong ownership within the team. + Guide the team in building robust tooling and automation to scale OKE systems effectively. + Manage relationships and collaborate effectively with partner teams across Oracle and external stakeholders. + Participate in on-call rotations and provide leadership in addressing complex service issues and customer support escalations.
