Flavorist I – Sweet Applications

Location: Corona, CA

Department: Tastepoint by IFF

Experience Level: 5-7 Years

Are you passionate about creating exceptional taste experiences? At IFF, we are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, and we’re looking for a talented and driven Flavorist to join our team located at Corona, CA.

In this role, you will work on some of the most exciting projects in the flavor industry, helping to bring innovative and proprietary flavor technologies to market. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop winning flavor solutions that delight consumers and drive business growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage mid-level flavor briefs and collaborate on complex projects.
  • Create, duplicate, and modify sweet and beverage flavor formulations to meet customer and market needs.
  • Translate customer requirements into innovative flavor technology solutions.
  • Develop production-ready formulas that meet regulatory, quality, and manufacturing standards.
  • Evaluate and incorporate new and unique raw materials to enhance flavor performance.
  • Utilize GC-MS and other analytical tools to support flavor development and troubleshooting.
  • Lead technical presentations and discussions with internal teams and external customers.
  • Strengthen and expand customer relationships through technical expertise and collaboration.

Job Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a flavorist, with a strong focus on sweet categories such as dairy, confectionery, or beverages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and commercialize flavor solutions.
  • Experience with GC-MS and other analytical techniques is highly beneficial.
  • Certification with the Society of Flavor Chemists is a strong plus, though not required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel to support customer projects and business needs.
