Senior Legal Counsel | Houston, TX | Utility Scale Solar & BESS | Leading Development Firm

We are partnered with a leading Solar and BESS Development Firm who are currently expanding their legal function, as they continue their development of utility-scale projects across the US.

Responsibilities:

• Advise and support the business for the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects nationwide from a legal perspective.
• Draft, review, and approve contracts relating to a variety of topics spanning the project lifecycle (e.g. site control, PPA's, project acquisition, EPC, etc.)
• Attend and lead negotiations against and resolve disputes with counterparties.
• Support business development activities, identifying legal opportunities and risks and then working collaboratively across business functions to capitalise or mitigate accordingly.
• Manage day-to-day legal tasks such as reviewing contracts, drafting and preparing official documents, etc.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience working within a law firm or in-house legal function.
• Proven track record and experience working on matters relating to utility scale Solar/BESS development is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate within the legal team and the wider organisation as well.
• High degree of ethics and integrity and maintaining this standard across a wide range of legal work.
